TEC17 Podcast: Ansiblefest 2019 - Ansible and DNA Center
Jeff Andiorio provides a summary of his presentation at Red Hat's 2019 Ansiblefest. Jeff's presentation discussed how customers can use both Ansible and Cisco DNA Center for managing devices in their networking domain.
Do I choose Ansible, Cisco DNA Center or both? Jeff Andiorio says the answer is simple...choose both. Networks today can be seen as loosely related technical silos containing controllers that manage the devices in the domain, but are mostly autonomous. These technical domains include security, campus networking, data center networking, etc. There is a need to provide a layer of "glue" for our automation between these domains.
In this TEC17 podcast, Jeff talks about this multi-technology approach. The main issues Jeff covers in this podcast are definitions of Ansible and DNA Center, tools that can be used to automate networks, what APIs are, and why they are so important and why a multi-solution approach is preferred for network automation.
