Software applications heavily drive business outcomes in the modern world, yet there is a large amount of data that goes uncollected, uncorrelated... and unseen. AppDynamics Analytics allows application owners to gather detailed data points and arrange it to answer critical business questions, such as: What is our most popular reward type? How much money does an outage really cost us? What part of my application is used the most? 

All of this can be answered by correlating the raw data already at your fingertips collected from normal AppDynamics Application Performance Monitoring (APM) operation. Below are the steps you can follow to get a feel for navigating to see, view and manipulate the data.

 Application Flow Map

The Application Flow Map displays the interactions between your applications, highlighting important near real time information such as average response time, calls per minute and much more. This flow map can even be used to pin point specific problem areas with complication application behavior.

1. Select Dashboards & Reports.

2. Select AD-Financial-Next Rewards dashboard.

3. Take time to explore the dashboard's contents. These graphs are able to answer business questions in near real time.

Observe the visualization of the data in this Search. These widgets were created in a Search and then used in a dashboard. The Search can be modified independently of the dashboard widget. Searches are a powerful way of querying the data to satisfy a business question such as "How many active users are experiencing errors?" or "What distribution of rewards are experiencing errors?" or "What type of card is experiencing errors?".

4. Select Data to see the raw data powering the widgets.

Data collectors pull relevant business contextual information out of application behavior to help build a holistic picture that represents application health and success.
