Introduction to Data Formats

Data is a key element to successful automation solutions. Data is the lifeblood that drives automation, providing both input and output. This lab will introduce you to common data encoding formats and teach you how to represent your environment as a data structure.

The data formats covered in this lab are:

• YAML
• JSON
• XML

This knowledge is fundamental to moving along the journey to automation.

The goal of this lab is to educate new automation engineers on the different data encoding formats. These data encoding formats are critical skills in the area of infrastructure automation. The lab will provide hands-on exposure to building data structures in each of the common formats.
