Great Place to Work® and Fortune Name World Wide Technology for 10th Year to 100 Best Companies to Work For® List
ST. LOUIS, MO (April 12, 2021) — Great Place to Work® and Fortune have honored World Wide Technology (WWT) as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For®. This is WWT's tenth consecutive time being named to this prestigious list, this year coming in at 73rd place.
The Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® award is based on analysis of survey responses from more than half a million current employees across the U.S. In that survey, 93 percent of WWT's employees said WWT is a great place to work.
Great Place to Work is the only company culture award in America that selects winners based on how fairly employees are treated. Companies are assessed on how well they create a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.
For more than 30 years, WWT has been at the forefront of innovation and progress while the technology landscape rapidly evolves. As a company rooted in delivering outcomes, WWT produces tangible examples of how it has made an impact on the world by enabling clients to do their best work, partners to make the right products and employees to positively impact the communities they serve. This is reinforced by a workplace culture that places an unrelenting focus on making WWT a great place to work for all.
"At WWT, our employees are the foundation of our company's success and how we run our business. That's why we are invested in them, their safety and well-being, and why we strive to create a culture that empowers, supports and celebrates inclusion of all people," said Jim Kavanaugh, CEO and co-founder, WWT. "We are incredibly honored to have earned a place on the Fortune 100 Best list for the past 10 years and thank our employees for making WWT a great place to work for all.
To determine the 2021 list, Great Place to Work® surveyed over half a million employees on issues including how trustworthy, caring and fair the company is in times of crises; employees' physical, emotional and financial health; and the company's broader community impact. Particular attention was paid to how employees' experiences varied depending on their job role, gender, race/ethnicity, payroll status, and other characteristics to ensure that the company is creating a great workplace for all.
"Congratulations to the 100 Best Companies to Work For. These companies have stood out for heroic efforts to care for their employees, their customers and our society, in a difficult year," said Michael C. Bush, CEO Great Place to Work. "Remarkably, our research found that employee experience scores rose at these workplaces overall last year – a testament to the resilience of their inclusive, high-trust cultures."
In addition to earning a spot as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For®, WWT also ranked number 14th in the 2021 list of Fortune Best Workplaces in Technology™ 2020 (Large). In previous years, WWT has been named to additional lists including Best Workplaces for Diversity™, Best Workplaces for Women™, Best Workplaces for Millennials™, Best Workplaces for Parents™ and more.
Companies were also assessed on how employees' experiences varied depending on their job role, gender, race/ethnicity, payroll status, and other characteristics to ensure that the company is creating a great workplace for all.
This year, 60 percent of each company's score is based on confidential employee feedback. The remaining 40 percent is based on the programs each company said they created to support their people and communities in response to the pandemic. This methodology represents a change in response to the unique circumstances of 2020.
In pre-pandemic times, 75 percent of each company's score is based on confidential employee feedback and 25 percent is based on our assessment of employees' daily experiences of the company's values, people's ability to contribute new ideas, and their leaders' effectiveness. Great Place to Work will be returning to this methodology next year.
