ST. LOUIS, MO. (July 25, 2024) – World Wide Technology (WWT), a $20 billion global technology solutions provider, announced it signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This multi-year agreement aims to accelerate advancements in generative artificial intelligence (AI), edge-based AI, and smart cloud solutions for the commercial enterprise and public sector.

This SCA is an expansion of AWS and WWT's existing relationship that leverages WWT's deep expertise to consult with clients on building and managing cloud solutions on AWS. The collaboration also benefits from WWT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC), which enables customers to test and validate solutions powered by AWS and overcome challenges in their cloud environments.

"The expansion of our relationship with AWS through this SCA is a testament to our shared commitment to driving innovation and growth. Accelerating advancements in cutting-edge AI and generative AI technologies will empower our customers to leverage data-driven insights and create more adaptive, intelligent solutions. With the power of AWS, the capabilities of our Advanced Technology Center (ATC), and our consulting expertise, we aim to help our clients accelerate their digital transformation and harness the full potential of their cloud investments," said Mike Taylor, CTO and EVP, Services, World Wide Technology.

Innovative Solutions at the Forefront
The expanded relationship combines WWT's extensive experience in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions, in combination with AWS services, to enhance digital transformation across various sectors, focusing on:

  • Generative AI: WWT's recently announced $500M investment in AI and 10+ years of experience delivering AI solutions to customers. WWT's expertise paired with leading AI services from AWS such as Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Kendra, and Amazon Q, will result in innovative cloud solutions designed to meet the strategic demands of enterprise and public sector customers.  Large language model (LLM)-driven document searches and summarization, LLM-based data visualization, and automation of core services are just a few of the use cases.
  • AI at the Edge: With an enhanced "edge in a box" solution, WWT and AWS will provide an integrated approach to managing on-premises and cloud data, facilitating advanced analytics and machine learning at the edge. Computer vision, digital twins, and inference at the edge are a small subset of use cases supported with this solution.
  • Smart Cloud Migrations: WWT's 30+ years of experience in building data centers and core infrastructure, enhanced by deep expertise in cloud-native application development and digital transformation will be leveraged to streamline cloud transitions, offering smart, scalable solutions for modernizing and migrating applications to cloud-native platforms.

A Collaborative Approach to Cloud and Cost Management
WWT will expand its offerings in cloud cost management, introducing sophisticated tools and services designed to optimize spending and enhance operational efficiency in cloud environments. This initiative addresses the growing need for fiscal discipline (FinOps) in cloud environments, ensuring maximum value and performance.

Empowering the Public Sector and Healthcare with Data and Analytics
The collaboration will also prioritize enhancing data and analytics capabilities in public sector, state, local, and education (SLED), and healthcare verticals, powered by AWS to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.

A Future Focused on Shared Success
This strategic collaboration with AWS signifies a major step in WWT's ongoing commitment to delivering comprehensive, innovative technology solutions. By combining strengths, WWT and AWS are set to unlock new possibilities for clients, driving growth and digital transformation across industries.
