About Matthew
Matthew Harding, or Matthew “The Millennial” Harding, is a Partner Architect at World Wide Technology, representing the Cortex product line. He is one of the world's most certified Palo Alto resources, a CyberForce Hero and Guardian, and has worked with the Palo Alto platform for over a decade. Matthew also holds the CyberForce Elite designation, recognizing the top one percent of Palo Alto expertise in the world.
Matthew began his career at a call center supporting small businesses after high school while attending community college during the day. He then transitioned to the help desk of a non-profit in Nashville. Matthew was recognized for his quick resolutions and calm demeanor and was promoted to Systems Engineer. Matthew was the first in Nashville to migrate a legacy firewall to Palo Alto PA-2050 running PAN-OS 3.0. Matthew went on to implement zero trust before it was a novel term by migrating a corporate office to new subnets by departments, allowing call center employees to work from home using remote access points pre-COVID. Matthew also migrated the environment from a legacy anti-virus suite to the Palo Alto TRAPS endpoint protection suite. Matthew also implemented MineMeld to automate common security policy changes from the help desk using external dynamic lists and the ticketing system.
Matthew then transitioned to the partner sector as a Senior Consultant. After migrating and improving the security posture of hundreds of clients from non-profits, sports teams, amusement parks, and state governments, Matthew was promoted to Principal Consultant to handle escalations and direct large projects. Matthew commonly deployed integrations from Aruba ClearPass and the Strata NGFW to isolate endpoints that violated security posture using the XML-API and integrate using User-ID recognizing the importance of automating everyday tasks from the SOC. Matthew also assisted in the design of complex GlobalProtect environments using Strata NGFWs and Prisma Access.
Matthew has been influential in redesigning the on-demands labs in the ATC for demonstrating Strata NGFWs, Prisma Access, Cortex XSOAR, Cortex XDR, and Cortex XSIAM demonstrating the power of the Palo Alto platform.
