Ron has been in networking for over 30 years going back to Novell NetWare and Windows NT before focusing on Cisco networking. He has been a channel partner, a customer at a global financial (Bank One/JPMC), and on the OEM side for both Cisco and VMware. His focus has been data center networking where he has leveraged that to co-author multiple Cisco Press books and videos. Ron is an accomplished public speaker at industry events from Cisco Networkers/Live to VMworld/Explore earning distinguished speaker accolades multiple times. At VMware, Ron focused on NSX networking in both on-premises data centers as well as the public cloud. Ron lives in Ohio with his wife and three of his five children. In his spare time Ron likes to participate in endurance events like GORUCK, Spartan Race and ultra-marathon trail races of various distances. When not training, he likes to spend time traveling and supporting his kid’s extracurricular activities.
