Automation.Day STL '24 - GenAI Your Way to Simplify Network Management

This talk explored how to build Cisco Catalyst Center open-source AI chatbots and demonstrate how GenAI can simplify configuration management and accelerate network troubleshooting.

In the first part of this session, we reviewed the options for building a chatbot for configuration management using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Catalyst Center REST APIs. We also discovered how to develop an intuitive interface that enables network engineers to consume Infrastructure-as-Code automation easily.

Next, we dove into accelerating network troubleshooting using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). We learned how GenAI can optimize the troubleshooting process, freeing up more time for issue-solving and reducing the time spent on configuration and operational data collection and assessment.

The session also shared sample code for the GenAI platform, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC workflows.
