NSX-T Virtual Lab 3: Add Compute Manager
In the context of NSX-T, a compute manager is a system that manages hypervisor hosts and their accompanying virtualized workloads. A prime example of this is VMware vCenter Server.
Adding a compute manager is not a requirement of NSX-T, but it does make deploying NSX-T much easier as it provides NSX Manager with visibility into the host environment it would not have otherwise. This will become more clear during the host preparation process.
