Cisco UCS Workshop
Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) is a next-generation data center platform that unites computing, network, storage access and virtualization into a cohesive system designed to reduce total cost of ownership and increase business agility.
What to Expect
Learn how you can leverage the power of Cisco UCS to unify network, computing and virtualization resources with WWT's Cisco UCS Workshop. You'll work with WWT experts to get hands-on experience with the following.
- Configuration of Cisco UCS from the ground up
- UCS manager familiarization
- Pools, templates and policies
- Service profile creation from local, disk, or SAN and installation of ESX 5.x
- Service profile template creation
- Configuration of organization- and role-based access within UCS
Goals & Objectives
WWT's hands on Cisco UCS workshop will demonstrate the advanced functionality of the UCS environment and show you how you can use UCS to consolidate and centralize your server environments. Attendees will build a functional data center system using Cisco UCS components.
The workshop will include:
The workshop will include:
- Overview of Cisco UCS hardware and architecture,
- Discussion of UCS integration with network and SAN design
- Discussion of management of virtualized infrastructure
- Interrelationship, physical, and logical connectivity of data center components
- UCS performance characteristics, sizing, migration process, and design success criteria
- ROI calculations
Benefits
Benefits of UCS include centralizing resources and simplifying IT management, minimizing space, power, and cooling requirements, accelerating delivery of new services, consolidating data center resources, and reducing the total cost of ownership.
